What Reiki Actually Is
Reiki is a Japanese energy-healing practice that supports healing on physical, emotional, mental, and energetic levels. The word comes from:
Rei – universal life force
Ki – personal life energy
Reiki helps balance the flow between those two energies so your system can rest, release, and restore.
In my own practice, I describe Reiki as “a valuable, accessible hands-on energy system used to support health, vitality, and vibrancy.” Your body already knows how to heal — Reiki simply creates the conditions for healing to happen more easily.
Why Energy Matters in Healing
Just as massage, breathwork, acupuncture, or yoga help move energy through the body, Reiki helps clear what’s stuck — physically and emotionally. When energy is blocked or overwhelmed, you may feel it as:

We begin with a conversation.
I want to understand what’s happening in your body, your emotional world, and your life. This helps me read your system more clearly.You lie comfortably on the table, fully clothed.
You do not need to do anything or “try” to relax — your body will respond naturally.I place my hands gently on or above your body.
Reiki is a pull system — your body takes in exactly the energy it needs. Nothing is forced.I often receive intuitive information.
During sessions, I’m able to sense patterns, emotions, or internal narratives that your body is speaking. I share these insights with you at the end or throughout the session, depending on what feels right for you.
Most people describe Reiki as deeply calming. Some feel warmth, tingling, emotional release, or clarity. Some fall asleep. There is no right or wrong experience — your body leads.
